Now that I’m a stay at home mom and our budget is so much tighter, I’ve found that we can’t give money to charity as much as I would like to. Yes, there are options like volunteering time but with a 6 month old, I’ve quickly realized I’m a slave to nap time. Here are three great ways to support a cause financially without spending any money
Online
ClicktoGive lets your browse through different causes and by clicking on the one you would like to support, you make a donation. You get one click a day so go back daily.
EasyClick is a similar site however they let you earn points through searching through their web browser which can be then donated to organizations. They even have an app Give as you Live that you can download and shop through. A percentage of everything you spend is then donated to your cause.
Swagbucks also lets you turn your points into donations for charities so they are another option.
Donate a vehicle
My husband had an old SUV that was sitting in our garage and after YEARS he finally decided it needed to go. In our area, we often hear ads from the Humane Society or the local Public Broadcasting station calling for car donation. We called The Humane Society and they arranged everything and we got a tax write off at the end of the year. You can search locally for an organization that does this and if you’re not certain they are 100% legit, check them out on Charity Navigator.
Give Blood
While this doesn’t fall into the category of money, it is a priceless thing you can do for your fellow-man. Check out the American Red Cross and see where you can donate.
