The Little just turned one and I’m starting to think about potty training. It’s a tad early but I know there might be a short window that I can catch right around his first birthday so I was happy when Joovy sent me their Loo Potty Chair to review.
Joovy is a family run American company that makes high quality, practical and fun family gear. They make a wide assortment of children’s products including strollers, baby carriers, high chairs, play yards, walkers and more.
First, it may be strange to say, but the Joovy Loo Potty Chair is pretty to look at. I love the simple clean design and how they were also able to make it functional. There are only two parts. The larger bowl is completely sealed and the removable bowl drops cleanly into it. The portable Potty chair is BPA free and can accommodate a child over 60lbs.
The splash guard on the smaller bowl is handy and at first I was confused by the raised area in the center of it. When I sat the Little on it to start getting him acquainted with it, he immediately grabbed it with both hands to help support himself. My husband also shared with me that it’s an extra splash guard that is a must when potty training boys. We have a small bathroom so I really like the size of the potty chair. It fits perfectly in our small space. I also love how it’s easy to clean and I don’t have to worry about missing small bits in hinges or nooks.
I’m not pushing him at potty training but I want him to start getting used to sitting on the potty chair and help make the connection that this is where he will be doing his business. I’ve had to hide it away from him at the moment because he’s discovered that the underside makes an amazing drum. The last thing I want is him to start using it and then turn it upside down to bang out a couple of tunes. He’s not ready to make the leap to using the portable potty chair but I’m looking forward to putting it up to the task.
The JoovyLoo Potty chair retails for $39.99. You can learn more about Joovy and buy the Loo Potty Chair via their online store.
