Chicken Soup for the Soul was first published in 1993 by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen who sought to create a compilation of powerful stories from ordinary people. As the book quickly grew in popularity they turned their focus from public speaking to publishing a series of books focusing on heartwarming, motivational stories that feed the soul of their audience. I long been a fan of this uplifting series so I was excited when given the chance to review and share a copy of their different volumes each month.

My first title to review is Here Comes the Bride. It’s a collection of 101 heartwarming and funny stories shared by brides, grooms, family members and friends of their wedding day. 377 pages of personal stories about everything from the cake to the diamond ring. I really connected with the first story in the book ”The Perfect Proposal.” Mr. Bejelly and I got engaged two years after we started dating and honestly, I can’t remember how he proposed to me. I remember us talking about getting married on the phone and that’s all. Some may think it’s sad that I don’t remember my wedding proposal but really, for me, it’s all about being blessed with finding a good partner not the fancy build up a horse drawn carriage or fireworks display when he gets down on one knee to propose.
I found myself laughing and crying when reading this book so I recommend it if you’re looking for a positive, easy read.
Three lucky readers have the chance to win a copy of their own of Here comes the Bride.
